 Based on feedback I updated the
 [https://core.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/43941/43941.12.diff
 patch] / [https://github.com/WordPress/wordpress-develop/pull/256 PR]. I
 have added a new function called `get_metadata_raw` that gets the raw
 value without a default / filter.

 Can you review again please @johnbillion ?
