 I'm curious, is there a reason not to include this in the already existing
 planet.wordpress.org feed instead, as has been done for other resources?

 I'm just not sure if a dashboard widget for this solves an actual problem
 the users have, and will for the majority of users be a widget to turn off
 as their first action. Given that most users likely aren't looking for
 videos talking about WP features (and may even be confusing if the most
 recent ones are technical presentation for example).
