 From an SEO perspective, redirecting to the mapped domain (via a 301 HTTP
 header) is definitely the preferred behaviour. We can't really claim to be
 "SEO friendly" with such a rudimentary omission as URL/domain
 consolidation.

 However, I suggest that we wrap this into
 https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/functions/redirect_canonical/ to
 avoid being greedy in (edge) cases where ''not'' redirecting is the
 preferred behaviour.
