 FYI: PR https://github.com/squizlabs/PHP_CodeSniffer/pull/2982 has been
 merged in the mean time and will be included in the PHPCS 3.5.6 release.

 Issue https://github.com/squizlabs/PHP_CodeSniffer/issues/2992 has been
 confirmed, but needs a different fix than the one I initially pulled.
