 Agree with @joostdevalk point.

 Additionally:
 * I feel it's inappropriate to force a proprietary service registration;
 data has value.. It makes Automattic subject to the appearance of a
 conflict of interest, that alone is a reason not to, especially since it's
 a wanted feature.
 * Additionally, it's a hassle for sites with thousands of users who are
 all potentially forced through this hoop.
