 That's a different topic and ticket, let's keep this about the jQuery
 migration for now :)

 I like the approach proposed in [attachment:"37110-add-dependency.diff"],
 and also think it makes sense to introduce this simple behind the scenes
 dependency to make it easier to "un-break" stuff during a period while
 things are fixed up. We know that not everyone reads field guides, release
 notes etc, or keep up with them before a release, especially as many
 plugins and themes are projects of passion, for when people have the spare
 time, and if we can give them an easy temporary solution so they get the
 chance to get things right, and doesn't introduce any issues from our end,
 it's an easy choice.

 Worst case, it makes it much easier to help guide a user towards
 implementing their own hotfix by just adding ~2 lines to a not yet updated
 themes functions file for example.
