 [attachment:"48894.7.diff"] isn't ready:
 - I still see two keydown events, thus the page scrolls down when pressing
 the Spacebar key on a top level item
 - the View Admin As sub-items don't work any longer:
   - open the menu
   - hover the mouse pointer, for example on "Editor" under "Roles"
   - the sub-item doesn't open
   - there's no other way to open the sub-menu: press Enter on "Editor"
 triggers the attached action
