The above is not really a bug, but confusing for the following use-cases.
We deal with eCommerce (WooCommerce) -centric sites/customers.
We have 1000's of customers listed under the User >> tab.
Sometimes a shopkeeper or admin wants to "View" a particular customer's
information (e.g. bill to or ship to address or phone number, etc.).
But when you click on "View" you go to the installation's homepage, which
is odd. This feature seems to have been built for a blog-centric world as
the URL structure is site.com/author/username. If that particular user has
blog posts, it goes to a webpage that lists all of that user's blog posts.
But if you have no blog posts (as most e-commerce users make no posts),
you go to homepage.
Perhaps this is a recommendation for WooCommerce. Such that if you install
the WooCommerce plugin, this "View" link might also go to the same
location as "Edit" where you can see a user's information as well as edit
it. This is a minimal solution. Better yet, would be to go to a very
ecommerce-centric use case page that details that users information as
well as past orders or something.
Note that if you have installed bbpress, this link is taken over by that
Plugin and it goes to the Forum profile for that user. I think this is a
good precedence for WooCommerce to make this link go to a better place
than the homepage.
