 Thanx for mentioning the feature plugin alternative!  I debated saying
 something about that in my comment.  In fact, a feature plugin could offer
 several of the different UIs that have been proposed, allowing testers to
 switch back-and-forth between them to better evaluate the pros/cons of
 each in the context of real sites, rather than in the abstract.
