 Hello, here maybe a short info: I had the same problem. For me it was
 because I had pictures in the visual editor that didn't exist. So if I was
 to write directly above (or next to) one of those nonexistent images (in
 the same paragraph) the space wouldn't work. When I deleted the picture,
 the spaces were displayed again immediately.
