 Hi there,

 As per today's #core-auto-updates team meeting, the current approach for
 WP 5.5.1 (next minor) is to provide more detailed hooks so plugin authors
 and WordPress developers can more easily extend the feature and add
 filters to failed/success updates email.

 Other options will be considered for next major release.
