 to never alter wordpress core code as I know it will be overwritten when a
 new update comes along.

 I'm glad that the plugin fixed your issue. I recommend opening up a
 [https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/learnpress/ support ticket in their
 forum]. They may not even be aware of the issue yet! I'm closing as
 `invalid`, which is Trac's impolite way of saying "there is nothing that
 needs to be done here".
