Comment:

 It appears that once auto updates are enabled for external plugins (that
 support updates), the "Disable auto-updates" link is not visible when the
 plugin is up to date. So basically, the "Disable auto-updates" link is
 only visible while there is a new version available, but as soon as the
 latest version is installed, it is not present anymore.
