Comment:

 Noting that #48894 focuses on the same issue and it's currently milestoned
 for WordPress 5.5. Although, technically, #48894 is a duplicate ticket, it
 has more feedback and an initial patch so it's probably best to close this
 ticket in favor of #48894. Apologies for the confusion. Please do feel
 free to join the ongoing progress on #48894.
