 Plain JS is fully easy and intuitive and even more faster than jQuery.

 I can't understand the reason WordPress insist jQuery so far in 2020.
 Apart from themes and plugins,

 WordPress Core should not use jQuery, and jQuery should be left as an
 option for themes and plugins.
