 Thanks for putting this on my radar.  The current version is 1.3.1, last
 updated 6 years ago.

 I think a major prerequisite for this would be to have better test
 coverage across the feeds component.  I began introducing tests a few
 years back, but they are still not complete.

 I think this is a great idea to inherit the bugfixes, but I'd like to
 ensure we have 1:1 tests against every function touched in the SimplePie
 changelogs between 1.3.1 and 1.5.
