Comment:

 In 47873.2.diff:
 - Refresh/some cleanup.
 - Introduce `wp_get_original_image_path()` that looks in image meta and
 always returns the path to the originally uploaded image file.
 - Some enhancements to `wp_create_image_subsizes()` and
 `_wp_make_subsizes()`.

 Thinking this is ready to go in. Please test :)
