Please cancel ticket with my sincerest apologies.
Assumed the desired Facebook post URLs were public since they were posted
to a business page; it's not often that businesses apply custom privacy to
their posts, but apparently these people aren't interested in free
publicity outside of Facebook for whatever reason. (I didn't even know it
was possible to change privacy for business page posts!)
As for earlier posts where previously-successful embeds were not appearing
-- the culprit appears to be Firefox's recently-added "Facebook container"
plugin. For the most part, Facebook container is helpful and well-
intentioned, but it's preventing Facebook embeds from appearing within
pages on websites (like mine) which are not "included" in the container.
As soon as I disabled this plugin, the embeds on the older posts appeared
once again.
So two different reasons for what I was seeing, both my fault for not
troubleshooting further before posting a ticket. Thanks to @dd32 for
suggesting I go back to get the URLs for the posts I was trying to embed
-- it wasn't until then that I noticed there was a gear/cog icon rather
than the globe icon we typically expect to see next to business page
posts!
