Comment:

 A quick search shows that
 [https://wpdirectory.net/search/01DQ8DPTN6NN5G6V52WKEBGMAK 464 plugins
 from the repo] use the function. Not all of them would be affected, but
 let's play it safe and try again in 5.4.
