Comment:

 With 5.3 RC1 today, I'm going to close this ticket out. It has received a
 full release cycle of testing.

 Moving forward, new tickets should be opened for bugs and enhancements.

 In order to keep this ticket in the 5.3 milestone for historical record, I
 created #48301 to continue working on that.
