 Re: color schemes:

 separate issue, and one that should be considered separately.

 Correct; historically, only the default color scheme aims to have a WCAG
 compliant contrast ratio. All the other color schemes have always been
 considered options and they don't meet (never met) the contrast
 requirement.

 Re: buttons active state:

 > I've added 34904-permalink-buttons.diff​, which borrows the button
 group's active state for those instead of the standard active state:

 The current active state is barely noticeable as it changes only the
 border color. It should be improved and also implemented for all the
 buttons, not only the permalink structure ones. Trying a patch now.
