Comment:

 `3108-4.diff` is a refreshed patch with a few extra niceties (the define
 for `DB_PERSISTENT_CONNECTION`) and work to implement `ext/mysql` support,
 though this might be possible to drop for the patch now that PHP5.6 is
 minimum requirement with a view to moving to 7.0+ minimum soon.
