 discussed during design triage].

 The flow for private and public posts should be the same. After updating,
 if it’s not published yet, it should remain "Scheduled", whether it's a
 private post or not.

 So the status has two part: public or private, and scheduled or published
 or draft.

 This seems like it needs a patch, not more design.
