#46720: pages created under a parent page don't appear in correct navigation menu

I created a page- "about founder" under parent page "About US" ( version
5.1.1)
It does not automatically appear in sub menu of "About US" page in main
menu
nor I am allowed to edit the menu from appearances-menu tab of the
dashboard to show the page under "About US". I am only allowed to put it
under Gallery ;)
Expected behavior: When a new page is created under a parent page and it
is published, it should appear in submenu of the parent page. When we
hover over the parent page title, submenu should show up and allow
clicking on items in submenu to open relevant page.
The dashboard of wordpress is pretty illogical and primitive. It needs
immidiate action to improve the dashboard.
It sucks !!!
