 This is dependent on the fixes in #46645. Will make a patch as soon as
 they are committed.

 Testing the approaches that were suggested by @afercia and @xkon, seems it
 will be enough to "ajaxify" only the dir size calculations. Gathering the
 rest of the data performs well.
