 On a subdomain multisite network, new sites all default to http rather
 than https regardless of any server settings or the main site's URL.

 With the proliferation of free wildcard certificates from Let's Encrypt
 and Cloudflare, there's no reason this shouldn't be at the very least a
 user configurable setting in wp-config.php. But I would expect and prefer
 subsites to use https by default if the main site URL uses https.
