 Nope. I did a quick search (google) but couldn't find any relevant
 changes...

 Maybe it was never re-added and I got it wrong (I only thought so because
 of [https://wordpress.org/support/topic/xmlrpc-uploadfile-overwrite/ this]
 support thread opened by @demienyu). As far as I'm concerned, you can
 close this ticket.
