 My personal no-core """fixes""" have been:

 1 - make sure a post as an explicit excerpt

 2 - doing a {{{remove_filter( 'get_the_excerpt', 'wp_trim_excerpt' );}}}
 in theme's functions.php or a custom plugin to stop the automatic
 excerpt's generation for posts without an explicit excerpt.
