 Just to play devils advocate here. Isn't the entry left in view until
 refresh in order to allow the user to revert their change if it was
 unintentional.

 Switching a draft post to published and realizing it shouldn't be public
 currently is easy to revert by re-editing the item. In the proposed
 solution removing the entry then forces the user to try and find it in
 their published posts list which could be very long.
