 On the linked html5-boilerplate GitHub issue, a fix was suggested
 [https://github.com/h5bp/html5-boilerplate/issues/1985#issuecomment-394096182
 using height: auto]. Worth trying that but I'd recommend to start just
 with screen-reader-text within buttons. I think for normal text there's
 the need for a different solution.
