#45228: Placing back a revision, places back another post

This problem was reported by a client a few weeks ago, we've tried to
replicate it in other websites with similar situations but have been
unable to.
The problem presents itself as follows: Client has multiple revisions of
an ordinary post, makes a mistake, goes to revision overview page. When
choosing a specific revision, it's showing the correct adjustments. When
choosing "Place back revision", it will then place back a completely
different post.
There are approx 2000 posts in use, nothing major in itself.
Bug, configuration issue or a plugin? Where should we look? I have cloned
the site to test it on a different server, and am able to replicate the
issue in this installation too, so nothing server-related should be going
on.
