 I found that backdating a post from the edit post page in the admin panel
 that has already been published does not change the publish date for that
 post when viewing it on the single post page on the public-facing website.
 However, if I go back and change the post date using the quick-edit
 feature on the posts page in the admin panel, the correct date is then
 shown on the single post page when viewed on the public-facing website.
