Comment (by philclothier):
I think there should be clear guidance about how to deactivate the
Gutenberg plugin after someone has installed it. This might seem like an
obvious thing (go to 'Plugins' and click 'Deactivate'). However I'm
concerned that basic users of WordPress may be stuck with the Gutenberg
pre-release plugin with no knowledge of how it was installed or where it
is located in their dashboard.
The dashboard notification makes it very easy to install and activate
Gutenberg within 2 clicks, which is great! However this means that people
which have no knowledge of how to install (and therefore uninstall) a
plugin are funneled into an unusual situation. What if Gutenberg causes a
breaking change with another plugin/theme they are using? They're stuck
with Gutenberg until they figure out what they have done.
I know the answer to this may be "It is the site owner's responsibility to
know what is going on with their site/plugins". It just seems a little
reckless to push this on people who may be less experienced than others. I
work with '''a lot''' of that type of WordPress user.
