 @mariovalney Thank you for chiming in. Agreed that a filter-based approach
 doesn't feel right (for "true" `LIKE` behavior, that is), and you make a
 very good point about custom operators. We should have separate tickets
 for each of these different projects. Let me clear this one out first, and
 I'll open those up for discussion.
