Comment:

 This is NOT a WordPress Core issue. WordPress does NOT output OG tags.

 This is related to SEO and Open Graph plugins that, IMHO, shouldn't mess
 around with themes shortcodes.
 If the themes use shortcodes to display so simple thins as images, and
 they want that image to be the open graph image for that post, they should
 hook into the available SEO / Open Graph filters and set the correct
 image.
