 That sounds to me like a reason to leave the version visible. Chrome is
 not a good model to follow. For instance, one of the reasons I do not use
 Chrome is because I have no control over the version. I do not like auto-
 updates. Yes, I may be in the minority, but that is what is. For a
 website, there are many moving parts, and having things auto-update
 introduces more chance for problems, especially for custom plugins.

 I am against WP being version-less and WP auto-updating major versions.
