 We have seen that below the widget all three links open in the new tab.

 For the "Attend an upcoming event near you" of the "WordPress Events and
 News" widget links contain external links to third-party URL. So I think
 these all links should be opened in the new tab.

 I have added the screenshot for the better understanding.
