Comment:

 Hi @johnbillion - do you think we can get this in trunk early for testing
 for 5.1?  Even if its use is gated by a constant that defaults to falsem
 it would be good to get some more widespread testing instead of punting
 because of a SO post.  Without the changes being in core I think that
 testing is unlikely to happen.  If it works reliably, even for some
 hosting configurations, I think it could have a significant positive
 performance impact.
