 From a GDPR conversation in Slack, yesterday, I am given to understand the
 answer to this question is "security".

 Some clarification on that would be helpful.

 Further - regarding data storage, who (data controller) and where (outside
 the EU?) is this data stored would appear to be very important under GDPR.

 But only - only - if this is Personal Data. Which is the root question.
