 autosaves/text/0000-autosaves.md wrote up a design doc] based on my
 comment above to lay this out a bit better.

 Is there anything fundamentally wrong with this design that I'm missing? I
 ''think'' (hope) that it satisfies the points here.

 (I'm happy to also come up with the implementation; I'm trying to get back
 on top of my open source time.)
