 I also tried but cannot replicate the issue.

 Tested on
 - WP: ''4.9-alpha-40870-src'', ''4.8.1''
 - PHP: 5.6.30

 Tested by, installed new WordPress account without install any 3rd-party
 plugins then, uploaded images & zip file & text file. Then follows:

 When in the media library, select LIST view > select IMAGES in the 'All
 media items' dropdown, select a month from the dropdown and click FILTER
