 Thanks for testing @mnelson4.

 I've uploaded [attachment:32315.2.diff], which also sets `last_error` and
 `last_query` when invalid characters are detected in the `query()` method
 (the previous patch only addressed the CRUD methods). I've also included
 more unit tests.
