 I can't reproduce the bug outlined in that ticket's description. If you
 have any concrete bugs that I should be aware of I'd be happy to add more
 tests.

 @alexvorn2 Have commits from this ticket introduced any bugs? It looks
 like #40221 was last updated 7 months ago.
