 Looks like this has been fixed in GlotPress (The data-source of the
 WordPress.org API):

 The native name for `es_CR` has been updated from `Español` to `Español de
 Costa Rica`.

 I'm going to leave this ticket open until we update GlotPress locales on
 WordPress.org since it affects core.
