 Replying to [comment:10 westonruter]: YES! Turning off syntax highlighting
 in my user profile allowed me to edit and save the custom CSS. After
 removing the errors, I confirmed that I could turn syntax highlighting
 back on and the Custom CSS was now editable and savable.
