 Hi,

 we did some further testing to my case above (current wp-stable release
 with mediaelement.js in version 2.22.0) with iOS 10 / Safari mobile
 devices and current stable Mac OS / Safari: Audio is working if the site
 has not https! If the site is running on https, its broken.

 Can we make sure https and the OS/Browser mentioned above is working with
 this fix?
 Someone already described the bug and built a fix inspired by youtubes way
