 when selecting the Text (HTML) tab of the TinyMCE editor that they should
 also consider the HTML Code (Custom HTML) widget instead?

 Good question — maybe yes? Here's a super rough idea:

 > Hey, did you hear we have a "Custom HTML" widget now? Check it out to
 add some custom code to your site!

 Maybe as a dismissible notice, that remembers your preference if you close
 it.
