 @jrf I'm gonna leave the additions in `class-wp-customizer-widgets.php`
 for [attachment:0002-calls-missing-replacement-functions.patch] out right
 now as I've asked for a second opinion on whether the quotes should be
 encoded or not.

 They'll go in either way, just want to get a consensus – hard-escaping
 quotes is mostly a no-no in any kind of string that core passes around, in
 my experience. :-)
