 Note that some of these functions may intentionally not contain the
 `_deprecated_function()` call, for various reasons. I think I remember
 when `screen_icon()` was deprecated, in particular, that the decision was
 made not to add the notice. Might be worth investigating some of these to
 see if there was a reason that the `_deprecated_function()` call was
 omitted, and if it still holds.
