 I should have clarified that this is mostly about providing a minimally
 viable flow where there is none now, where that flow is better than having
 none at all, is is the case right now.

 Agreed! In the meantime, we have what we have, and will have it for quite
 some time, I would imagine. All this proposal is doing is trying to close
 the loop on a currently impossible flow with the lightest-possible
 implementation. Things like scheduling, like combining the post edit into
 the changeset, sound nice, but those could be later enhancements if
 they're deemed worthy.

 In the meantime, there's a very real functional hole that can be patched
 together in a minimally viable way. It wouldn't be great, but better than
 what we have (nothing), and I think that's a win.
